Message from Nathan Cooper
It is my privilege and pleasure as the Chair of the Board of Directors to present you with the strategic direction of Homestead Christian Care for the coming years. The five targets of this strategic plan outline how Homestead Christian Care intends to respond to the apparent and growing need for the very important ministry of providing quality affordable housing where people can find community and realize their potential. As you read the following powerful commitments, I invite you - as tenants, employees, volunteers, stakeholders and above all else, as people of faith - to join us in our journey towards hope and homes for all.

Demonstratoing Abundance in a Time of Austerity
Demonstrating Abundance in a Time of Austerity is Homestead Christian Care’s plan to be the leader of homelessness prevention in Canada. In an era where austerity is policy and the establishment says it cannot do more, God’s abundance will be shown. This plan recognizes the need to end homelessness. We reject the idea that new affordable housing and supports cannot be built. Through faith we know it can and with God’s help Homestead Christian Care will lead the way. Demonstrating Abundance in a Time of Austerity is our response to God’s call for Christians to be a force for healing and change in a broken world.

Engaged Tenants Matter

Our belief in the presence of God’s image in every human being reinforces a commitment to creating communities where everyone is valued and has a sense of belonging.

We are committed to doubling the number of housing units we offer by 2017. Our value of hope drives us to actively seek ways to end homelessness in our communities. Our faith tells us that we can demonstrate God’s abundance in this way.
